India Fondly Remembers Jawaharlal Nehru on his 124th Birth Anniversary

nehruThursday, November 14 – Nation fondly remembers Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 124th birth anniversary on Thursday. President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari paid tribute to the paramount leader of India.

Beside, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Salman Khurshid, Kamalnath and Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit also paid floral tributes to him who is believed as an architect of the modern Indian nation-state. On Wednesday, floral tributes were given to him at Shanti Van, in the midst of chants of mantras and patriotic songs. Tricolour balloons added the beauty in the surrounding as soon as the notable guests released them in the air.

The first Prime Minister of the nation was so popular among the children that his birthday is celebrated as Children’s day, or, ‘Baal Diwas’. The motto behind celebration of Children’s day is to respect lifelong zeal of Pandit Nehru to work for the wellbeing, education and growth of the children and youths. Jawaharlal Nehru’s contribution in the progress of nation will be cherished and respected forever.
