Viral Kohli Grabs Number 1 Spot in ICC Ranking

viratNovember 5 – Performing superbly in India-Australia series 2013, the young star player of India – Virat Kohli grabbed the number one spot in ICC Player Rankings for ODI batsman. With a total of 344 runs, Kohli made to reach at the supreme rank, scoring 61 runs in Pune, a massive ton in Jaipur, 68 runs in Mohali and a not out innings of 115 in Nagpur.

For Kohli, the weekend came with terrific happiness, adding the joy of Diwali bash the latest ICC ranking. It was not only him who jumped to a recognized position, Rohit Sharma – who recently became the third Indian batsman to get score over 200 after Sachin Tendulkar and Virendra Sehwag – came at no. 15. With a total of 491 runs, Sharma made to attain the best rank of his career. Rohit smashing knock of 209 runs in the final and decisive match in Bengaluru just prior to Diwali festival played crucial role in taking him to this spot.

Between all these successes and achievements, a fall of ranking has also been observed wherein Ravindra Jadeja slipped to number three position in the ICC Player Rankings for ODI bowlers. Saeed Ajmal of Pakistan has once again achieved the number-one rank in this ranking.
